Police in Kansas City are investigating a fatal shooting that took place between the stadiums that are home to the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals as an attempted murder-suicide.

A woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds, and a man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Sgt. Stacey Graves said. They were in their 40s and knew each other, but police did not elaborate on their relationship.

Enough tickets were sold to lift the TV blackout on the Chargers' home opener against the Titans.

The team made the announcement Friday, one day after the NFL granted the Chargers a 24-hour extension to sell the 2,100 remaining unsold tickets.

Bengals safety Taylor Mays was fined $21,000 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Ravens tight end Ed Dickson, according to a league spokesman.
