Why is it taking so long for the Browns to get any word on the possible suspension of cornerback Joe Haden for reportedly failing a drug test?
For one thing, suspensions for violations of the substance abuse and steroid policy are not announced until after a player appeals, according to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello.
If Haden has been suspended for four games for using the stimulant Adderall according to espncleveland.com, he might be in the process of filing his appeal. It's unknown at this time if he's been suspended or if he will appeal.
If a player wins his appeal, the suspension is not announced at all, Aiello said in an email.
