Veteran safety Jim Leonhard practiced for the first time with his new teammates Tuesday, as the Broncos moved Leonhard to the active roster. Leonhard, who was signed Aug. 5, underwent surgery in December to repair a torn patellar tendon in his right knee. He was able to work out on a limited basis for Broncos officials before he signed a deal, but had not participated in a practice until Tuesday morning. He had been on the team's physically unable to perform (PUP) list. "Coming back from an injury, you just want to prove yourself," Leonhard said. "I haven't been able to do that to this point, it just feels good to get back on the field."
