Bills C Eric Wood Confident Knee Is Ready For A Full Game | | Eric Wood was patient in his rehab from ACL surgery throughout training camp, slowly ramping up his work level.
The Buffalo Bills' center believes that approach was the right one and that he's now ready to play four quarters of regular-season football.
Asked whether he's ready for 50 or 60 plays when the Bills open the season Sunday at the New York Jets (last year, the Bills ran 53 and 67 plays, respectively, in their two losses against New York), Wood said: "Yeah, that should be fine. I have taken up to that many reps in practice already. Not necessarily in a game-like setting, so it will be a challenge, but I think I will be all right."
Coach Chan Gailey also believes Wood is ready for a full workload.
"I think if we had a 15-play [drive], a turnover and a 15-play drive after that, that might tax him a little bit," the coach said. "I just have to make sure [quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick] scores in less than 15 plays, and we'll be all right." Source: Buffalo News
