Bills CB Ron Brooks Lands On IR, Designated To Return
Posted By: SteveRobWhatever 2 Weeks Ago
  #1

Bills rookie cornerback Ron Brooks, who had foot surgery last week and is out for the foreseeable future, was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday - and was also designated to return, meaning that he can be added back to the roster six weeks from now when he's healthy.

Since players that return from IR can't participate in a game for a full two weeks after their return, we won't see Brooks until a Week 9 trip to Houston, at the earliest. That means that if Brooks recovers quickly, the Bills will have him available for half a season, at the most (not counting any potential post-season games, of course). NFL teams are only allowed to use this designation once per year, so Brooks is the guy. Any player that lands on IR from this point forward will not be eligible to return.
