Ravens Make Roster Moves To Get To 53-Man Limit | | Former Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Curtis Painter headlined the list of 16 players waived by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday as the team trimmed its roster down to the mandatory 53-man limit.
Also waived by Baltimore was running back Anthony Allen, a seventh-round pick by the team in last year's draft who lost out in a battle with 2012 third- rounder Bernard Pierce, and undrafted rookie Bobby Rainey to be the primary backups to All-Pro Ray Rice.
The Ravens placed six players on injured reserve as well on Friday, including rookie wide receiver and sixth-round draft choice Tommy Streeter. Streeter sprained his foot during the preseason and was sent to IR along with tight end Matt Balasavage (ankle), running back Damien Berry (neck/shoulder), offensive lineman Justin Boren (foot), linebacker Ricky Brown (head) and tight end Bruce Figgins (shoulder).
Along with Painter and Allen, the Ravens waived safeties Omar Brown and Cyhl Quarles, inside linebackers Josh Bynes and Nigel Carr, offensive linemen Jack Cornell, Cord Howard, Antoine McClain and veteran Tony Wragge, wide receivers Dorian Graham and Logan Payne, nose tackles Nicholas Jean-Baptiste and Ishmaa'ily Kitchen, defensive end Terrence Moore and outside linebacker Chavis Williams.
