Packers RB Cedric Benson Ready To 'Put A Licking' On Former Bengals Teams | | Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports Benson told Packers reporters this about his return to Cincinnati: “It’s going to be fun, to say the least. It’ll be good just to go against that defense. I’ve seen all those guys coming in, I’ve seen them work together, so it’ll be fun to put a licking on them.” Both Benson and head coach Marvin Lewis said there was no ill will on either side and that both still think highly of each other. But as last season went along it was obvious that both were going in a different direction. The Bengals wanted to spread carries out among all the backs while Benson wanted to continue to be the workhorse. Besides short-yardage and goal-line inconsistencies, ball security was an issue as Benson had 12 fumbles the past two seasons. “Ced was a very good player here. He was durable, gained the yards and did a nice job,” Lewis said. “I’m glad he has gotten the opportunity to get on another team and earn a position there.” Source: The Redzone
