Bengals OG Travelle Wharton Out For The Year With A Season-Ending Knee Injury | | The Cincinnati Bengals signed Travelle Wharton to a three-year, $10 million deal in the offseason to be their starting left guard, but they’ll have to make other plans for this season after the ninth-year veteran suffered a season-ending knee injury in the team’s preseason opener Friday, ESPN’s John Clayton reported. Wharton played just three snaps before going down, and his absence deals a blow to the Bengals’ running game. The 31-year-old Wharton spent the first eight years of his career in Carolina, which has long been known for its quality rushing attack. Second-year player Clint Boling, a fourth-round pick, is expected to assume Wharton’s spot. Boling has three career starts. Source: Sporting News
