Question TV Advice

Ok so me and the wife are getting our tax return back fairly soon and we've been looking around for a new TV. This would be our first "major" TV purchase, so I don't want to get fucked. The one we're using now was only like $250. I was just wondering if any of you guys had any preferences in brand or just general advice. Any places that have good deals? I'm looking to keep it between $500-$700.

I hear mostly good things about Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic, but it has been a few years since I looked at TV's.

I wish we could get a Sony but the size we want are a little out of our price range. We're going for 47-50. We have a Vizio now and like that. I found a 50" Zenith for $550. Anyone know anything about Zenith?

I have a Sony and love it. Sony or Samsung you can't go wrong with IMO. Maybe a couple inches smaller will get you a better TV?

The size we'd have to go down to to get a Sony in our range would be like under 40 or 720p. Neither something we want to do. I'd rather get a decent big tv than a great small one.

Samsung IMO has the best features and picture, yes even beating out Sony. Bestbuy stores are always having sales and I think right now you can get a 37" flat screen for under $600.00, see below:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+...&skuId=2122397

If you get anything larger than you need it to be 1080p and 120Hz, if it's under 40" as long as it's 1080p you can go with 60Hz and you won't notice anything different.

Be sure it's 1080p and 120Hz or you'll get a shitty picture especially watching sports or anything moving fast.550 is cheap and way too cheap for a "good" flat screen and Zeniths suck ass.

It's 120hz. And I've been reading up on it and everything I've read has been fairly positive. Zenith is made by LG and LG has a good rep from what I understand. We'll probably just go with Vizio again. Can't complain about the one we have.

If you have a Vizio now why are you wanting another one?
