Got my iPhone two weeks ago and I love it. I'm well into jailbreaking though so I've unlocked a lot of things that I figure people would probably criticize it for. You can pretty much do whatever you want with it after that from what I've experienced so far.
Droid Bionic and Samsung Infuse both have significantly better battery life, but the iPhone for whatever reason lasts an awful long time despite only being 1420 MaH.
Yup. Welcome to the world of Android. I've heard this about numerous Android phones (HTC Incredible, Thunderbolt, Droid Pro, Droid X, Samsung Hero/Fascinate).
Although I had a terrible experience with the Thunderbolt (mainly because of the God awful battery that was dead, like yours, within 6 hours), I wanna check out the new Samsung Infuse 4G, Samsung Droid, Sony Xperia Play, and the Motorola Droid Bionic when it comes out.
i let it run totally dead until it turned off, then recharged it for 12 hours. After booting it back up, i put it on maximum battery saver and I get about 10 hours a day out of it, but I'm not getting automatic updates now and my accuweather program only refreshes every 30 minutes as opposed to every 1 min when its on free range battery use
I love Android simply for the fact that it exposes the technomorons of the world. "My battery only lasts 6 hours wah wah wah", Samsung pre-load their phones with App Killers and there's plenty on the marketplace if your make doesn't. Seriously, how hard is it to close down your apps and not leave like 10 running in the background?

And I guarantee I know way more than you do about cell phones and how to tweak them to full capacity. HTC Thunderbolt's battery is garbage as are the other phones I mentioned. Maybe you have one of the decent ones and that's super for you, but check every major Android hacker website and you'll see all of those guys bitching about it, too.
And the second part of your comment is, well, just as stupid as the first. If you think that some vast majority of Android owners are all tech savvy and it's only iPhone owners who don't know shit, then you're just as naive as all of the fanbois on either side.
