Colts Expect TEs Coby Fleener, Dwayne Allen To Return This Week
The Colts got good news regarding their second-year tight ends Monday.
Coby Fleener, who left Sunday’s 20-12 preseason win over the New York Giants with a sprained knee, had an MRI that came back negative. He is expected to miss some practice time this week but nothing beyond that.
“(We’ll) probably work him back into practice on Thursday and Friday,” said coach Chuck Pagano, whose Colts host the Cleveland Browns in their third preseason game Saturday night.
Additionally, Dwayne Allen, who has missed nearly two weeks with a foot injury, will see some monitored reps during practice this week. Allen was out of his boot Friday, the team’s last day of training camp at Anderson University, and if he progresses he could return for the team’s Sept. 8 season opener vs. Oakland.
“He’s doing great,” Pagano said of Allen. “It looks like he’s going to be able to get some work in (Tuesday), Wednesday, Thursday, go through the week. He’s coming back relatively quick.”
