Buccaneers CB Darrelle Revis Takes Next Step In Rehab, Practices In 11-on-11 Drills
Cornerback Darrelle Revis took another step in his recovery from knee surgery on Monday, participating in 11-on-11 drills for the first time since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Revis was limited to no contact, but said he lined up against wide receiver Vincent Jackson several times and didn't experience any difficulty.
Still, it remains to be seen when Revis will get his first game action. General manager Mark Dominik previously has said it's possible Revis could play in Saturday night's game at Miami, the same place where Revis suffered the injury while playing for the New York Jets last September.
But coach Greg Schiano said he doesn't feel it's absolutely necessary for Revis to play against Miami or in the preseason finale against Washington.
"I just don't feel like he has to,'' Schiano said. "If he wants to, or if he wants to play in the Washington game for that matter, I'm fine with it. But I don't need to see him do that. He actually had a season where he didn't play in any preseason games with the Jets when he was holding out.''
