Titans, Former DE Dave Ball Reach Injury Settlement
Former defensive end Dave Ball will receive a one-time $142,000 payment from the Tennessee Titans in a workers’ compensation filing for a litany of injuries he sustained during his four seasons with the team, David Boclair of the Nashville City Newspaper reports.
The sides filed a joint petition requesting approval in Davidson County Circuit Court on Monday. That approval is considered a formality.
The sum was determined based on permanent partial disability Ball sustained in several areas, the most serious damage was to the back ($52,640), head and neck ($40,030 each) as well as knee and ankle ($4,650 each).
The Titans also agreed that its team doctors would provide “reasonable and necessary medical treatment directly attributable to the subject back, neck, head, left knee and right ankle injuries” as needed in the future, provided the team pre-approved such treatment.
