Lions LB Ronnell Lewis Arraigned; Lawyer Expects 'Favorable Resolution' In Next Month
Ronnell Lewis had his arraignment on three misdemeanor counts stemming from an April bar fight continued for a second time today, but Lewis’ attorney said she expects “a favorable resolution” for the Detroit Lions defensive end when he finally appears in court next month.
Lewis and the man he allegedly punched were charged with disturbing the peace, public intoxication and interference with an official process for the April 20 incident.
Lewis was tasered twice by police, according to an incident report.
“My hope is that one of the counts will be dismissed and then we’ll get a deferment on the other two for a short period,” said Jana Ford, Lewis’ attorney. “That’s my expectation.”
Lewis, who’s expected to contend for a backup role at defensive end and on special teams this fall, is due in court again July 10.
