Jaguars Rookie QB Jordan Rodgers Undergoes Sports Hernia Surgery
Quarterback Jordan Rodgers, signed by the Jaguars as a rookie free agent after not being drafted, will be sidelined until training camp after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia Tuesday, coach Gus Bradley said.
Rodgers, the younger brother of Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers, suffered the injury the first day of rookie camp on Friday May 3. He practiced Saturday and then sat out the final practice on Sunday.
Rodgers' absence leaves Matt Scott, also signed as an undrafted rookie, as the third quarterback in camp behind Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne.
The Jaguars have 11 more practices left before the start of training camp -- eight organized teams activities and three veteran minicamp practices.
