Jets Rookie QB Geno Smith Gives Himself An 'F' For First Minicamp Workout
The New York media were all over Geno Smith’s first day on the job Friday at the Jets’ rookie minicamp, as his stats in 7-on-7 drills were showing up all over Twitter.
After Smith finished his first workout, he reportedly gave himself an F for his first workout, explaining that he’s his harshest critic.
“I want to be A+ in everything,” Smith said, via a tweet by the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta.
According to Mehta, Smith completed 6 of 10 passes (sacked once) in 11-on-11 drills and was 11 for 15 in 7-on-7 drills.
Smith told Mehta he wasn’t upset about the onslaught of criticism he has received since the draft. “I don’t resent any of it,” he said.
He described himself as a “natural leader” and said he has been “studying my butt off.”
