49ers LB Parys Haralson Eyes Offseason Return From Torn Triceps Tendon
Outside linebacker Parys Haralson, who sustained a complete tear of the triceps tendon in his left arm Aug. 26, began lifting weights three weeks ago.
Haralson said Friday he is on pace to resume football activity during the offseason -- whether it's organized team activities or minicamp.
"They told me the rehab was anywhere for four to six months, depending on how you go about the rehab," Haralson said. "A lot of it depends on the work you put in.
"It's a gradual thing. You start off with a little bit, as far as getting the range of motion back and making sure you break all the scar tissue. It's more of a buildup of doing the little things, not overworking it but getting enough work so you can tell it's getting stronger."
Haralson engaged a Denver Broncos tight end during the exhibition game and immediately felt a shooting pain in his arm. The tendon became detached and the triceps muscle rolled up in the back of his arm.
