Browns To Clean House; Let Go Of Coach Pat Shurmur, GM Tom Heckert On Monday
Browns coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Tom Heckert are expected to part ways with the organization or be fired by Monday, NFL sources told The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer.
The Browns are under new ownership (Jimmy Haslam) and have a new CEO (Joe Banner). A shakeup was expected after the sale of the team to Haslam was approved, Banner was hired and former team president Mike Holmgren departed.
Banner had told reporters last week that a decision on Shurmur and Heckert's future with the franchise would come quickly after the season.
Shurmur and Heckert both know they will be gone following Sunday’s game, even though they hadn’t yet been informed, sources told the newspaper.
