Dolphins Could Face 49ers Without CB Jimmy Wilson
The odds of the Miami Dolphins playing Sunday's game against San Francisco without first-team nickel cornerback Jimmy Wilson are growing.
Wilson, who is nursing a hip injury he suffered in last Sunday's 23-16 loss to the New England Patriots, sat out his second straight practice.
Bryan McCann replaced Wilson as Miami's nickel cornerback against the Patriots, defending Wes Welker. It is possible McCann, a three-year veteran who has been with the Dolphins for less than a month, might have to fill that role again if Wilson isn't cleared to play.
Miami's other options are R.J. Stanford, who has been splitting time on the boundary with starting cornerback Nolan Carroll the past two games, and Michael Coe, a five-year veteran who was signed last week.
