Mike Ditka Released From Hospital Sunday Days After Mild Stroke
Scary news came out on Friday evening, when we learned Hall of Famer and current ESPN broadcaster Mike Ditka was hospitalized with a minor stroke.
So it was quite a relief Sunday when ESPN producer Seth Markman tweeted that Ditka was released from the hospital.
Seth Markman tweeted: "Great news. Coach Ditka has been released from the hospital."
Great news indeed -- and it's fitting that Ditka got free of the hospital on a Sunday.
He was "overwhelmed" with the support that poured his way over the weekend and was, per Markman, hoping to get released in time to watch the NFL this week.
Ditka's obviously a tough dude, and it's doubtful anyone expected him to do anything other than recover from this but knowing that one of the all-time greats is back on his feet is good to know, indeed.
