Lions CB Drayton Florence Cleared, FS Louis Delmas Off Crutches
The Detroit Lions face a tall task this week with the Green Bay Packers coming to town, but the secondary could get a boost from the expected return of Drayton Florence.
Florence has been out of action since Week 2 when he broke his forearm against the San Francisco 49ers. After having surgery to accelerate the healing process, he was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return.
"He's eligible to come back and he's physically cleared, so we'd have to make a roster spot for him," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. "We've missed him on the field. He's a good veteran presence. Particularly with the injuries we've had, it would be good to get him returned."
Safety Louis Delmas, who has missed the past two games with a knee injury, is also making progress. He traveled with the Lions to Minnesota after staying back the week before.
"He was on crutches the week before," Schwartz said. "It makes it very difficult to get around a hotel, get around an airplane -- up and down those jetways -- on the sideline in the game and stuff like that. It's a difficult situation to travel, but he wasn't on crutches this week."
