Jaguars Place LB Daryl Smith On IR, Designated To Return
Out the entire regular season because of a groin injury, Jaguars linebacker Daryl Smith was placed on injured reserve Thursday, but could return for the seasonís final two games.
A new rule this year in the NFL allows each team to designate one player to remain eligible to play despite being placed on injured reserve.
Smith can return to practice in three weeks and play in six weeks. He will be eligible to play in the last three regular season games -- vs. New England and at Tennessee.
Smith has not gone through a full practice during the regular season.
