Lions DT Nick Fairley Appealing His Sentence
Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley has an appeal hearing scheduled for Nov. 8 before Judge Sarah Stewart in Mobile (Ala.) County Circuit Court.
Fairley is appealing a sentence handed down Sept. 26 by Judge George Hardesty in Mobile County District Court. He was sentenced to a six-month suspended jail term, one year of probation and a $600 fine after his May 27 arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol, and other charges.
Hardesty sentenced Fairley on misdemeanor counts of DUI and reckless driving and dismissed a misdemeanor charge of attempting to elude police. Alabama state troopers say Fairley passed a police car at 1:13 a.m., traveling 100 m.p.h. just outside Mobile.
