Jets TE Dustin Keller Expected Back Vs Colts
Jets coach Rex Ryan expects to have starting tight end Dustin Keller back on the field Sunday against the Colts.
Keller has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury.
“I’m encouraged,” Ryan said. “When I talked to Dustin last, he felt that he’s going to be able to go this week. I think that will give us a huge boost.”
The Jets have been dealing with a depleted offense thanks to injuries to Keller, wide receiver Stephen Hill and wide receiver Santonio Holmes.
Keller has led the Jets in receptions in each of the past two years and has become quarterback Mark Sanchez’s favorite target.
Jeff Cumberland, Keller’s backup, had a touchdown in Monday night’s loss to the Texans but also dropped a pass with under two minutes left that ended up being the interception to seal the game for Houston.
