Bears RB Matt Forte Limited In Practice, But Doing 'Better'
Bears running back Matt Forte, who returned to practice Wednesday off a sprained right ankle, was limited during Thursday's practice.
Coach Lovie Smith continued to express optimism concerning Forte's status.
"Matt Forte continues to get better," Smith said. "Being able to do a little bit more each day. Can't tell you a lot more than that as far as Matt is concerned except for he's getting better. And that's been the case all along with him."
Michael Bush, who started for Forte in a 23-6 win last Sunday over the Rams, practiced without restrictions Thursday despite getting hit in the shoulder during that game.
Long snapper Patrick Mannelly was sick Thursday and missed practice, while Smith decided to hold out Julius Peppers. The defensive end continues to deal with plantar fasciitis.
