Rams RB Steven Jackson Benched Due To Injury, Not Unsportsmanlike Penalty
Rams running back Steven Jackson missed the second half of his team's 31-28 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday, and it was believed to be due to a simple benching. Apparently, that wasn't the whole story. As it turns out, Jackson was dealing with some sort of hamstring injury.
Jason La Canfora reported on Twitter: "Steven Jackson had a hamstring issue, I'm told, which played a role in him sitting out much of the game. Wasnt just a benching."
On a 3rd-and-1 play in the first half, Jackson was tackled just shy of the end zone. After being called short of the goal line, Jackson spiked the football in frustration, drawing the foul.
