Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware Says His Hamstring Injury Is Nothing To Worry About
DeMarcus Ware promises to be at his Sunday best, calling his limited participation in practice "precautionary."
"I went through all of the drills and the stuff I needed to do, so I was good," Ware said. "Itís just something you just muscle through, and after a while, it just heals up, and you keep rolling. You figure out how to play with it and keep going."
Ware was a limited participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday because of his lingering hamstring injury, something he has never had previously. Ware tweaked his left hamstring in an Aug. 16 practice. But he played 51 of the 56 plays in the season opener and made six tackles and two sacks in the season opener against the Giants. It earned him the team's new Hard Hat award, which Jason Garrett will give after each victory this season.
"We give it out to the outstanding player of the game," Garrett said. "Really, it's about putting your hard hat on, regardless of circumstance and going down there and doing your job. We told them some stories about coal miners early on in training camp and what they do each and every day and how they get paid for what they do. DeMarcus Ware demonstrated that more than anybody else in our win against the Giants."
