Packers CB Davon House’s Shoulder Injury Won’t Require Surgery
For now, it doesn’t appear surgery will be necessary for Davon House to get back on the football field.
Following Sunday’s practice, the Green Bay Packers’ second-year cornerback said the left shoulder subluxation he sustained in the team’s first preseason game against San Diego on Aug. 9 shouldn’t require surgery unless it happens to pop out again.
At that point, surgery will be “a must,” but right now House is eying a return to the field possibly as early as next week barring no setbacks.
When Houses does return, the 6-foot-0, 195-pound cornerback will need to wear a brace on the shoulder for protection for the entire season, limiting his mobility, physicality and ball-hawking opportunities.
“We’re shooting for hopefully I can be back Week 1,” House said. “The way my progress has been going, it’s a good possibility that I can be ready for next week. Doc’s been impressed with how it’s been going, but if my shoulder won’t let me go then I can’t really go. I can’t be out there with one arm trying to cover. That’s hard to do.”
