Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Vince Young has landed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, Buffalo later confirmed the deal. Young worked out for the Bills last week throwing to four receivers, including David Nelson who said the six-year veteran "looked good." "We think adding Vince to our roster will create more competition for the backup quarterback position," Bills general manager Buddy Nix said an announcement of the deal. "He brings with him some unique physical abilities that most are aware of and that will make the competition interesting. It's all about improving our team." Young was with the Eagles last season but was not re-signed after completing his one-year contract. He started three games for Philadelphia last season completing 66 passes for four touchdowns on 866 yards. Young has thrown for 46 touchdowns on 8,964 yards and rushed for 12 touchdowns and 1,459 total in his career.

New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott is the latest player to come forward to say that even though football has been good to him, he doesn’t think it’s worth the risk of injury for his son. “I don’t want my son to play football,” Scott told the Daily News. “I play football so he won’t have to. With what is going on, I don’t know if it’s really worth it.” “I don’t want to have to deal with him getting a concussion and what it would be like later in life,” he said. Scott also says he is concerned about the impact football has had on his life and plans to get evaluated when his career is over.

Dolphins RB Reggie Bush Unsure Of Miami's New Uptempo Offense

The Dolphins have installed an uptempo offense under new coach Joe Philbin with a goal of running perhaps 90 plays per game. "That's a lot of plays," running back Reggie Bush said. "I was just asking our running back coach (Jeff Nixon), 'Is this going to be the temp in the game?' We're pretty fast right now, but usually we practice faster than we should play. I don't know, we'll see. Hopefully the tempo will go down a little bit and save some guys because that's a lot of plays in one game." Aside from the faster speed, Bush says the Dolphins are adapting to their new offense well. "I don't think it's too bad. For the most part, I think everybody's doing a good job at picking it up. The rookies are doing a good job getting in there and learning behind the veterans. I think the veterans are doing a good job of picking up the new system and really just trying to play fast. I think everyone is doing a good job with that."

Lee has worked on improving Fitzpatrick's mechanics and can see an improvement so far during offseason workouts. “In terms of all the plays we were watching, we were seeing a lot of bad plays and not a lot of good plays, but in order to get better you have to do that stuff,” said Fitzpatrick. “As a quarterback you’ve got to have thick skin.”

According to a South Florida Sun-Sentinel report, Dansby is setting the challenge for the Dolphins 2012 season pretty high. "As I team, I'm expecting us to win the AFC, period. Point blank," Dansby told the Sun Sentinel. "We've got the talent. We have the coaching. We've just got to put it all together. It's going to come down to us as players going out and excelling and making sure we do everything we possibly can to win every game. It's going to be a challenge, no doubt. But that's what you live for. You live for opportunities to have those challenges and we've got the opportunity of a lifetime here in Miami and we've got to take full advantage of it."

The Jets held their third OTA this morning and the first open to the media according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger Sanchez clearly outplayed Tebow. Tebow took reps as the No. 2 quarterback behind Mark Sanchez, as the team has made clear his role will be. Some of Tebow's passes came out a bit high and he was picked off on back-to-back passes in 7-on-7 drills, by Bart Scott and new Jets safety Yeremiah Bell. Sanchez looked pretty sharp. His first three passes in 11-on-11s were incomplete, but that included a drop or two from his receivers. The highlight was a 75-yard touchdown to Stephen Hill, who burned Kyle Wilson on coverage.

Jets linebacker Bart Scott said he and head coach Rex Ryan had a "pow wow" this offseason to discuss some lingering issues from last year and have cleared their air according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. Among them was the way Scott came off the field during some packages because of matchup issues, something Scott wasn't used to throughout his career. "It's cool, it was just something Rex and I needed to be on the same page about," Scott said. "(I wanted him) to know where I stood and what the plans were and once we hashed that out it was fine. I've never been afraid to speak my mind or bet on myself so that was a conversation that needed to be had, we had it and we moved on. "Hopefully I can be back to what I've always done, which never included leaving the field a lot," he said. "So, hopefully I'll get more opportunities."

HBO plans to have an NFL team in place for this year's edition of "Hard Knocks" by June 1, according to Michael Shain of the New York Post but thus far, finding a willing participant to appear in the popular program has been difficult. The Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins reportedly have either declined offers or informed HBO and NFL Films that they're not interested in opening their doors to camera crews. The New York Jets, who had a memorable run in the latest edition during 2010 training camp, haven't ruled out a return gig, though that seems unlikely considering how they're planning to keep the focus on football after a disappointing 8-8 season in 2011. The only team that has openly lobbied to appear is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Paranoia about letting camera crews into their facility is probably the driving force preventing the network and NFL Films finding a subject, but Shain reports that part of the struggle is the absence of NFL Films President Steve Sabol, who is battling brain cancer. "Without him going out to the teams twisting arms, it's been hard," a source tells Shain. "Nobody would say 'no' to Sabol."

Patriots WR Brandon Lloyd Already Up To Speed

New Patriots receiver Brandon Lloyd has been impressive during the team's OTAs, but many people expected that. After all, Lloyd is on his third stop with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and knows the playbook and play calls like the back of his hand. Lloyd has been so impressive that the Boston Globe reports that Patriots quarterbacks have been looking for him all week because he's been exactly where he needs to be on every play. Lloyd was coy when it came to his role and his goals for this season but gave a pretty simple explanation on why he wanted to follow McDaniels to New England. "You find something good, you stick with it," he said. "I think that's the case for everybody, with everything in life."

Chad Ochocinco was a man set adrift in the offense of the New England Patriots last season, the light never went on. With a full off-season to pore over the playbook, the veteran wide-out is running out of excuses. Ochocinco, however, "seemed to pick up where he left off" at Thursday's OTA session, according to the Boston Globe, teammate Deion Branch had to instruct him where to line up on one play. Ochocinco later proceeded to draw an off-sides penalty and was asked to run a lap by coaches. Let's not melt over this, it's a couple of plays in May and veterans are shaking off the rust, besides, the man was robbed on Wednesday and he's shaken and vulnerable.

Dolphins QB David Garrard Expects To Battle For Starting Role

Earlier this week, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross spoke of incumbent Matt Moore likely being the team's opening day quarterback in 2012. Ross mentioned the need for rookie Ryan Tannehill to be eased into the starting job, and that he expected Moore would start in the interim. Not so fast, says veteran David Garrard, who signed with the Dolphins in the off-season after sitting out 2011 following his release from Jacksonville and subsequent back surgery. Garrard said he intends to prove to Ross that he merits the nod to be the No.1 QB for Miami. "That's just more fuel for me. It’s somebody else I have to try and prove wrong," Garrard told ESPN.com. "The owner is the owner. He can make all of the comments that he wants. I am never going to dispute him, but I'll just let my play on the field go out and show for it." At the very least, the three-way battle should make for an interesting training camp and preseason in South Florida.

Upon his arrival at the NFL's spring league meeting, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross told NFL.com and NFL Network that he expects Matt Moore to be the starting quarterback when the 2012 season begins. "I don't think they're going to rush (Ryan Tannehill) into anything," Ross said. "He's going to have to win the starting job. I think Matt Moore will probably be the starter, and I wish him the best." Asked when he expects Tannehill to take over the job, Ross didn't discount the possibility of Moore remaining the man in Miami. "Whenever (Tannehill) is ready," Ross said. "And if Matt Moore develops, so be it. We want a franchise quarterback."

The New England Patriots most important rookie pick since they selected Jerod Mayo in 2008 is now under contract. The team announced that defensive end Chandler Jones has signed his rookie deal. The Patriots traded up six spots to grab the No. 21 overall pick from Syracuse. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the labor agreement signed last year will give Jones a four-year contract with a team option for a fifth year.

Free Agent WR Plaxico Burress Wants Dolphins, But They Don't Need Him

After getting the New York Jets to take a chance on him once he was released from prison, Plaxico Burress is finding it much more difficult to find someone to give him another shot now that he has escaped from the Jets circus of 2011. The Miami Herald reports that Burress "would love" to audition for the Dolphins, but the 'Phins may not be inclined to add any more receivers heading into training camp if their young players develop as they hope. Burress had 45 catches for 612 yards last season, but he did catch eight TD passes in his first season back in the league after spending nearly two years in prison on a gun charge. The thing that may be working against Burress as much as anything is that he will be 35 before the season begins.
