Books The Writers Bloc

Alright, I've decided to start a thread for writers. Say what you will but I think it'd be cool to see what people on GIF have written over the course of their lifetimes so this is the thread dedicated to it.

Here are some basic rules for this thread:

1. If you post a story you've written here please indicate if you want to be critiqued, if you do please verify the level of harshness you would like from very harsh to subtle. I would prefer if nobody got offended.

2. The things you post here do not have to be sports related.

3. No flaming.

4. Please indicate what you think the rating on your works would be from G to NC17 just in case someone here would prefer not to read something.

5. If your works are more than 1 Microsoft Word page in length (Times New Roman 12 Point Font) or have strong sexual content please post off site and link to your work so as not to break any forum rules or have massive articles posted on one page. A great place to post your works are Tumblr.

6. Anything posted on the internet is considered the work off the author and is subject to Copyright laws, do not steal someone elses work and pawn it off as your own. Also do not steal anything posted on this site and use it elsewhere as your own.

7. Works can include anything, Songs, Poems, Short Stories, Novels, anything you've written yourself.

That's really all I have if the mods want to add anything they can feel free to do so. The next post will be my first story.

I would love it if I could receive harsh critique from the members here, if you wouldn't mind, please tell me what you like and don't like about my story.

I like this idea. I don't have a lot I need critiqued now that I've graduated and don't have a job yet but I'm always happy to help other writers. I have plenty I experience with general English and a specialty in journalism and news writing.

I don't do fiction but I can offer plenty of grammar/usage advice. I'll write up a few notes for you when I get a chance.

Thank you very much Snowman I appreciate it :) If you want to post some work up here that doesn't need to be critiqued thats cool.

Also I edited the first post. But Posting to let everyone know. Works can include anything, Songs, Poems, Short Stories, Novels, whatever you've written yourself.

I used to write quite a few articles for the Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms game day magazines. I'll see if I can find some and scan them in...unless I can find the word files...

What are your thoughts on writers receiving feedback from readers? I suspect that any posts after that will be more directed to the feedback given vs. the writing itself. Thoughts on how the writer can/should receive feedback? Email possibly? As a barometer, I've finished critiquing your short story on Tumblr and I ended up with 2 1/2 page of stuff.
