Patriots Rout Broncos 45-10, Will Host AFC Championship Game

The New England Patriots didn’t just exorcise their postseason demons Saturday night at Gillette Stadium; they forced Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos to their knees and made them genuflect after ending up on the wrong side of a lopsided, 45-10, result. It was just the Patriots’ way of saying their days of being regular season darlings and postseason failures are over after failing to win a postseason game since 2007 following heartbreaking losses to the New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets. Brady (26 of 34) set a new Patriots’ postseason record with 363 passing yards and he tied the NFL playoff record with six touchdown passes early in the first quarter on a 17-yard pass to tight end Aaron Hernandez. Tebow never found a way outside of the pocket, which took away his ability to extend plays and forced him to stand in the pocket and attempt to complete passes, something that has been a weakness for him this season. Tebow was sacked five times, hit eight other times and tackled for a six-yard loss on a rushing attempt, as Denver was held to 233 yards of offense.

Might be the best I've ever seen Brady throw the ball. He really dominated this game.

Finally a good performance by the defense too. Tebow looked scared the whole game because every other play was either a sack, hit, or negative play.
