NFL Draft South Carolina DE/OLB Melvin Ingram Mini-Scouting Report

Round: 1st-2nd

Positive: Athleticism/Size

Negative: Shed Blocks

Run: Average

Pass Rush: Above Average

Other Spots: 3-4 OLB

Plays standup LB a bit

plays high at times

average burst

nice variety of pass rush moves (spin, swim, bull)

Could be a great special teamer

Not a big fan of his as a 3-4 OLB. However if we commit more to a hybrid and run alot of 4 man lines, he is hard to pass. Gives you nasty matchup potential, as he can stand up in a 3-4, come of the edge in a 4-3 and line up inside in a 4-3

Interesting could be the pass rusher cowboys need opposite of Ware on passing downs.

Needs to improve on his tackling and his burst off the snap.

If he stays at DE both of those are fine. It's just if he moves to LB. He def. has the athleticism though.
