NFC [NFC South] Which NFC South Team Has The Best Offense?

The NFC is one of the the closer division in the NFL with any of the teams seeming like it could win the division. As a way of breaking down the teams which team do you think is going to have the best offense?

The easy answer is going to be the Saints but I think that the others have something to offer. The Panthers should have one of the best running games in the NFL, again. If you are able to run the ball you are able to control the speed of the game. The Falcons could be even better than they were last year and they were not bad last year. You would think that Ryan would be better than last year since he has a season of starting under his belt. Add to that they add one of the best if not the best pass catching TE in NFL to the roster. Last but not lest is the Buccs. While they have not decided on who is going to be the QB they do have about all the other position around them filled. They have a very good young O-Line, a couple of good RB, and with Bryant and K2 they should have a balanced passing attack.

falcons are going to take a step backward. There are a lot of changes on that team despite the seemingly consistent view that they are going to be great.

Sophomore slump for Ryan, and of course the Saints will have the cream of the crop when it comes to offense.

A decline on the fact that there quarterback is probably not gonna come as close to the yards he put up last season... I still think it will be the Saints, then the Panthers, then Falcons, finally the Bucs... I think the Panthers win the South though (I'm a little biased), but I think every team except the Bucs has a real shot at least to a Wildcard spot... Should be a good season...

Brees did what he did last season without his best WR and TE. Not to mention that his threat out of the backfield was hurt. Now all three of those guys are healthy, and I expect Brees to mathc his numbers last year, if not improve upon them.

I kinda agree with what you are saying... But it is really really hard to come back with numbers rivaling Dan Marino back to back seasons... I said earlier that I think the Saints will have the best Offense in the South (total Offense... we will still be the best rushing offense) I just think it will be hard to do it again...

Drew won't have to put up the numbers he did last season for the Saints to be successful.

Saints
Panthers
Falcons
Bucs

The Panthers have the leagues #1 rushing attack. I'm jealous.

As for the Falcons declining, I couldn't agree more. There defense will be at the bottom of the league in everything, they will be terrible.

The problem could start up front with a less than stellar DL.

Quote:
For starters, Abe is a year older, and he won't put up 16 sacks again. Who will make up for the pass rush? He is obviously the Falcons best defensive player. He's slightly undersizzed (built) but his speed and quickness more than makes up for it. He uses his speed and quickness more than his strength, which makes him a slight liability against the run. He doesn't get off of blocks very well, which makes him noneffective during a run play if a OL gets his hands on him. Though he does a good job against zones. When pass rushing, his first step is great, but his second step is what makes him so good. It's almost unheard of.

Jamaal Anderson is a bust and has no reason to still be a starter, simple as that. But, I won't stop there. He is the opposite of Abe. He has good size, and does a good job shedding blocks. Though, one of his biggest problems is in his head. He isn't very good at recoginition. He has decent speed, but isn't anything to worry about. He overplays plays, which puts him in bad position. He needs to develop more moves during pass rush, and not quit on the play when he is initially held up.

Jerry will make a small push up the middle, but he isn't very good against the run. He's too small, and when you have Jonathan Babineaux on the other side that doesn't mix well. He isn't very strong and gets pushed around vs the run, and we all know about the durability concerns.

Like I mentioned, Babineaux is also a small DT. That isn't a problem when he is lining up across a big guy, but he isnt. He has a good motor, but his size doesn't help him in run support. He has trouble taking on blocks inside, and as a DT, that probably isn't a good thing. Like Anderson, he isn't a factor when he gets held up. He has no second breath. In short, he's much better getting to the QB then stopping the run.

I do like Chauncey Davis. But he's also small and not very strong. He is mostly a pass rusher, but if he doesn't get a good first step he is out of the play. At times, even if he does get a good step, if the can get his weight over Davis, then he is taken out of the play. He has a good inside outside game, and does a decent job at getting a bull rush. But like I already said, he's done when OT's get their weight under him.

Lastly, his main reason the Falcons have a underestimated DL is because of high draft picks? That statement holds no weight at all.
