Saints, QB Drew Brees Reportedly Still $2 Million Apart In Contract Talks

ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Saints have "resumed dialogue" with unsigned franchise player Drew Brees, but the sides remain roughly $2 million-per-year apart in long-term contract negotiations. Werder was qu that he's "told by a source close to the stalemate in negotiations that dialogue between Saints GM Mickey Loomis and Tom Condon, the agent for Brees, has resumed, but so far has not resulted in any substantial progress.The two sides are believed to be about $2 million-a-year apart. And I'm told that Brees is committed to his position because, at 33, he recognizes this could be the final contract of his NFL career. That there are no guarantees beyond that."

I haven't really taken sides on this one before now, I just figured the Saints needed to pay the man whatever the fuck he was asking for...

but Brees needs to get the fuck over it. I don't know what the dollars are, but I guarantee it's a SHITLOAD of money anyway that will likely keep him in the top 5 paid. How many millions do you need? Your team needs you and really needed you this whole offseason.

Finally people are starting to realize Brees greed. He is arguing of 2 mil when he is going to be payed close to 20 a year. Why don't they use that 2 mil to help that D instead of padding Brees pockets even more.
