Patriots Director Of Player Personnel Jason Licht Departs For Job With Cardinals

New England Patriots Director of Player Personnel Jason Licht is leaving the organization to accept an undisclosed role with the Arizona Cardinals, Shalise Manza Young of The Boston Globe reports. A finalist for the Chicago Bears' general manger position, Licht worked in the Cardinals' personnel department during the 2008 season following a five-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles. Licht began his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins in 1996, worked for the National Scouting Service in 1997 and was an area scout for the Carolina Panthers in 1998. Licht joined the Patriots as a college scout in 1999 and was promoted to Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2002, a post he held for one season before moving on to the Eagles. Licht returned to the Patriots in 2009. Adam Caplan of The Sideline View reports that Cardinals Director of Player Personnel T.J. McCreight is expected to join the Indianapolis Colts' front office, so it's possible that Licht will fill that spot for the Cardinals.
