Who Are Your Top 5 Collegiate Linebackers?

Alright. We'll go defense this week. Many consider LBs to be like a QB of the defense, so we'll go there first.

You can do it by each LB slot, or just five overall LBs, period. Remember, no one expects you to have to reach beyond your era of watching college football. Let's see what we come up with this week.

Now we are talking linebackers we saw right? Ok, here's my list then:

1. Derrick Thomas - Alabama
2. Chris Spielman - Ohio State
3. LaVar Arrington - Penn State
4. Brian Bosworth - Oklahoma
5. Marvin Jones - Florida State

Did anyone ever block Derrick Thomas in college? He was so dominant it wasn't even funny. Spielman was a personal favorite of mine, I just loved his game. LaVarr Arrington was as good a playmaker as there was at that position. Bosworth was a hype machine but he backed it up when he was in college. I gave Marvin Jones the edge over Derrick Brooks simply because Jones was a hitting machine, 'ol "Shade Tree' would just straight up fuck you up. I loved his game.

Lawrence Taylor, Mike Singletary, Dick Butkus would most likely be the Top-3 on all of these lists if we saw them play...

Marvin was straight nasty, too bad the injury bug hit. he's one of those guys who's college career gets diminished a bit because he didnt quite live up to it.

Hell, in fact if you look at my list, the same could be said for most on it

That #5 spot was hard for me. Brooks was in my mind. Lewis was a great college LB, but a much better pro then a collegiate.

As a Buc's fan you'll probobly hate me for this, but Dubose would have been the Domer homer pick if I went that route. But while a great colligate, not good enough to where he legitimately in the convo

JJ we're talking about their careers in college. Lewis was a beast at scUM. 3 time All-American in 3 years had like 400 tackles and quite a few sacks.

Had Brooks not wasted his Freshman year a DB he would have been my #1.
