| Vikings QB Christian Ponder Says Adrian Peterson Arrest 'Won't Be A Distraction' After Adrian Peterson was arrested for resisting arrest early Saturday morning, most teammates, fans and observers were surprised by the report. Quarterback Christian Ponder told Kelly Smith of the Minneapolis Star Tribune Saturday that he didn't know the details of the incident but that Peterson is the "nicest guy" and "one of our biggest leaders" on the team. "Obviously he's probably a little embarrassed by this, but he's a guy we count on," Ponder said. "We all have made mistakes. He'll learn from it. We'll be all right." Peterson's previous trouble with the law involved traffic violations. In 2006, when he was still in college at Oklahoma, he was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, according to Texas records. In Minnesota, he received a speeding ticket in 2009 while driving 109 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone in Edina and in 2011 when he was ticketed in Eden Prairie for not wearing a seat belt.
