| Dolphins Sign P Brandon Fields To 4-Year Extension Brandon Fields has three of the best four individual punting seasons in Dolphins history, including a franchise-best 48.8-yard average last year (third-best in the NFL). Saturday, the Dolphins ensured that Fields will be booming punts in South Florida for five more seasons. Fields, entering the last year of his contract, signed a four-year extension through the 2016 season worth slightly more than $13 million ($3.3 million guaranteed), league sources confirmed to the Post. Fields joins New Orleans’ Thomas Morstead and Green Bay’s Tim Masthay as punters who have recently received big contract extensions, and Fields is now the fifth-highest paid punter in the NFL. He was set to make a base salary of $1.424 million this year, but his salary cap number for this year is expected to remain the same at $1.728 million. Source: Palm Beach Post |
