| Chiefs TE Brad Cottam Not Guaranteed To Start | | | With Tony Gonzalez now wearing a Falcons jersey, the Chiefs are left to find a new starting tight end for the upcoming season. Although the favorite is widely believed to be 2008 third-rounder Brad Cottam, head coach Todd Haley has declared it an open competition. Kansas City brought in four new tight ends this offseason veterans Sean Ryan and Tony Curtis and rookies Jake OConnell and Tom Crabtree and each one is expected to get a crack to seize the No. 1 spot away from Cottam in a battle that could last deep into training camp.
