Titans QB Vince Young Wants To Play Or Be Traded

During an interview with WMAR-TV, Titans QB Vince Young said that if he doesn't win back his old job, then he wants a change of scenery. "I definitely want to get back out there playing ball and picking up where I left off, winning games and having a good time with my teammates and with the fans," Young said. "At the same time, if them guys don't want me to be in there, it's time for me to make a career change for myself. Because the fact is I'm ready to play ball. If they're not ready for me to play ball, then somebody is." During the offseason, Titans coach Jeff Fisher declared that Young would have to "earn his job back" to overtake Collins. "I'm still focused, staying focused," Young said. "I got a lot of people that look up to me. I got a lot of fans that love me and want to see me back out on the football field. So, right now, I'm just taking it a day at a time. I 'm being very competitive, competing for the job and just let Coach Fish make his own decision after that."

Let's face it Kerry Collins played in over his head last season. But he fits their scheme just fine, as Lendale and Chris Johnson are the horses of that offense. Collins numbers weren't very impressive but he did make key throws at key times in games. Either way I just want to see Vince Young starting somewhere, anywhere in the league. I think if they were to trade him, several teams would be interested and I do believe he could be a starter on many teams in the NFL.

not too mention hed be awesome in the wildcat. unike the Dolphins with Pat White, the team with Young wouldnt have to switch players to get into the WC formation. Starting QB and Wildcat QB all in one.

I think he'll wind up somewhere and have his moments, but I don't think he'll ever be in the top half of the league as a starting QB...I was never a fan of him as a QB. As an athlete...yes. But not as an NFL QB...just my opinion.

I concur - this is just pie in the sky speculation at this point but I think the it may have been wise for all the teams who drafted QBs high this last draft to have maybe taken a look at trading for VY - the idea of drafting a QB high makes a nervous and Vince has already proven he is OK. Pure speculation though and in Detroit's case the new QB was as much for the fans as for the club.

unfortunately, i think VY is getting bad advice from the people around him. he is being told by 'someone' that he needs to rush right back in the thick of things less than a year after having a nervous breakdown. this is really sad.

Ya know, when athletes say "PLAY ME OR TRADE ME" , I just want to put a diapar on them. Lets see here, Jeff Fisher said Vince Young would have to earn the starting job back, not have it handed to him, right? I can understand him wanting to be out there on the field playing BUT SHUT UP and bust your ass this offseason, it's that simple. Nothing is going to be handed to you Vince, NOTHING.

We can sit here and debate whether he is good or not all day, but what I want to know is what do you all think it will take to get him from the Titans. I honestly would love to see him in St Louis if the price was right. At the very least he would put butts in the seats.

I don't think Tennessee lets him go for less than a 2, which is why I don't see a trade happening...plus Collins is grtting pretty old, it's not in the Titans best interest to trade him unless they get a super deal like a 1

I think I could live with a 2 for him, maybe even a 2 and a 4 for Young and a 5. Get a experienced QB and not have to trust that position to a rookie. I like the idea go do it Rams
