Edgerrin James Calls His Time In Arizona A Bad Situation

Free-agent running back Edgerrin James, who got his wish via a release from the Arizona Cardinals but since hasn't drawn much interest, remains confident that he'll contribute somewhere in 2009. He also says that his lack of high-end production with the Cardinals wasn't his fault. "Of course I've still got it", James recently told Dan Steinberg of SportingNews.com's The Sporting Blog. "I was in a bad situation [in Arizona]. Just look at my track record. I averaged 4.5 yards a game the last five, six games. Trust me, there's nothing wrong with me. It was a passing team. You're not gonna find a top two or three passing team with a top running game. Choose one or the other. Show me a team that's No. 1 passing and No. 1 running. You ain't got enough time." Still, no running team or passing team has been clamoring to sign the man who currently ranks eleventh all-time in career rushing yards.

I'd trade Marone and pick up Edge as a Pats fan. Maroney cant stay healthy, it would be worth the gamble to me.

As long as Edge is used sparingly he can be effective for a while.

I love James as a backp for most teams, as long as he understands his role he should excel at it

well the 99 rams were 1st in overall passing and I think 5th in overall rushing. May not be 1st and 1st but pretty damn close if you ask me
