Pittsburgh Steelers team owner Dan Rooney will vacate his position as chairman of the team in June following the highly-respected NFL power broker's anticipated Senate confirmation as the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Per the report, Rooney's son, Art Rooney II, will continue to act in the same capacity as team president. After resigning from every NFL committee he was previously on, Rooney is expected to hold the title of chairman emeritus of the Steelers going forward.
