[Giants] Tom Coughlin Not Ready To Welcome Plaxico Burress Back

During an interview this afternoon on WFAN, Mike Francesa asked Tom Coughlin if he would welcome back Plaxico Burress as long as his legal issues are taken care of. Remember, GM Jerry Reese and a few key players have said they would want him back. Here was Coughlin's response: "You know what, I'm not ready to say that because we need to sit down and think about it and talk about that and see what the circumstance stance might be," Coughlin said. "And I told everyone, I told the world that Plaxico is a member of our team and I am concerned about him, for his well-being and that of his family. But the issues I have to think about is there are 52 guys in that locker room as well."

and we're not the cowboys. We'll find Eli another #1. The entire judicial process of this case is going to be a huge distraction not worth it at all. And he really messed up. Not for the first time either.

As I heard on the tele today, the only talk the Giants should be spewing right now is how much they look forward to Burress getting back to the team and recovering. If they plan on removing him from the team, all they are doing is reducing the amount they might be able to receive in a trade by saying they aren't sure they want him back.

The Giants won't make a move to well after Free Agency, well after the Draft. Burress is still a good WR...he just made a boneheaded mistake. A lot of teams would love to have his talent...
