Steelers [Steelers] Steelers SS Troy Polamalu Sits Out Practice
Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu sat out Wednesday’s practice with a calf injury. Still, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Polamalu is expected to play in Sunday’s AFC championship game against the Baltimore Ravens. “He’s going to play in the football game,” Tomlin said. “We’re just going to monitor him here, particularly here early in the week, to make sure we put him in the best position we can in terms of being at his best on Sunday.” Polamalu strained his calf during pregame warm-ups of this past Sunday’s 35-24 victory over the San Diego Chargers, and was barely ready for the opening kickoff, but he was still able to play the entire game, finishing with only three tackles.
