[Chargers] Chargers RB Darren Sproles To Keep Same Role

Chargers GM A.J. Smith said that while Sproles may have endeared himself as a capable running back while replacing injured RB LaDanian Tomlinson, the team has no intention of promoting him if they're able to keep him on the team this offseason. "Darren Sproles was drafted by the San Diego Chargers to help us in three areas - kick returns, spot play as a running back and catching passes out of the backfield," Smith said. "We will be pursuing Darren for exactly the same reasons."
