New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and several of his teammates have made their stance clear: They want gun-toting wide receiver Plaxico Burress back in blue next season. That is, if the troubled wideout is able to emerge unscathed from law enforcement and the NFL following serious gun charges stemming from an incident where he shot himself in the leg a la Cheddar Bob of Eight Mile fame. “Sure, sure,” Manning told the New York Post when asked if he wanted Burress to return.

I would think the Giants would make receiver one of their top priorities besides re-signing Jacobs. Toomer is a free agent and Burress could be in jail. I can't imagine the team going into 2009 with Hixon, Smith and Moss as their trio.

Not to mention that there is a chance they could lose Gilbride to Oakland and Spags to another team. Pioli might lure him to Kansas City.

I wouldn't want this idiot back. They desperately need a receiving threat, but there are going to be other receivers out on the market. Maybe a guy like Houshmandzadeh, if the Bengals don't franchise him.
