[Eagles] Family Strain Affected Eagles QB Donovan McNabb's Play

On Tuesday, three weeks before her due date, Roxie McNabb, the Donovan McNabb's wife, delivered twins, a healthy baby boy and girl. Everyone is healthy - babies, mom and proud pop but there were times during the last several weeks and months when McNabb wondered, and worried, about his wife, about their 4-year-old daughter, Alexis, and about those unborn twins and while that alone didn't cause him to play poorly - there were other things, some well beyond his control, that contributed to that - it had an effect. Although he wouldn't go into specifics, McNabb worried about Roxie's health, about the strain carrying two babies put on her body, about whether those tots would be healthy or born too early. "I tried to not let it affect my play knowing that I didn't play as well as I wanted to in the previous weeks," McNabb said yesterday. "But it's sort of a little weight off your shoulders knowing that everyone is healthy and everyone is fine and kind of can come back out here and have fun."

I dont buy it because there were games in the begining where he played well so it couldent have effected him to much. I do think alot of it andy reid but some of the blame is on mcnabb.

Yea it does sound like hes makeing excuses. I like donovan but he gets tricked into saying this kind of stuff to the media all the time. He may have not wanted it to sound like thats the reason for his bad play but the media made it sound like that. His major in college was speech communications how can he be so bad at it lol.

Man the f*ck up and just play. I don't think I've ever known a QB care more about what people thought about him than McNabb. This same guy bold-face lied about puking on the final drive during the Superbowl after a handful of offensive players said that he did all because he doesn't want people to think less of him.

So now it's not him playing bad, but other things going on that have been affecting his play? Shut up!!

Why can't he just go out there and play without having to make excuses about it? If you held your breath waiting for McNabb to take the blame for something, you'd suffocate because he NEVER blames himself.

McNabb has one good game against the pathetic Cardinals defense and it's all fixed now. Really? He best be sure it was just his family situation because he won't be able to blame them after the Giants make him look like the crummy QB from a few weeks ago.

Roxy who? Fuck that ho I got ball to play. He simply said yes I was worried about her, yes it weighed on me at time, no it wasn't why I played poorly.
