[Giants] Amani Toomer To Benefit From Plaxico Burress Mess?

Plaxico Burress's self-inflicted gunshot wound has put receiver Amani Toomer, already a valuable player for the Giants, in position to benefit from the medical and legal issues surrounding Burress. Toomer is in the last year of his contract, which is worth about $3 million. He said Monday that no new negotiations had started but that he wanted to stay with the Giants.

I highly doubt that he'll be worth any more monetarily to the Giants. It might give him the chance to stay on the team, though. Toomer sure ain't what he was, but he's generally a solid player.

We all might benefit from the Plaxico situation for the remainder of the season if we have Toomer on our fantasy teams, though.
