[Buccaneers] Jon Gruden Says Monte Kiffin Rumors Not A Distraction

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden said today he doesn't expect the uncertain status of defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin to affect his players as the team readies for next Monday night's meeting with the Carolina Panthers with first place in the NFC South at stake. "No, not really," Gruden said at a news conference when asked if he was concerned about the speculation about Kiffin being a distraction. "A lot of our coaches are sought-after every year and Monte's sought-after every year. He should be. But I'm not worried about any distractions. We've got a great opportunity ahead of us and we want to take advantage of it." Kiffin reportedly might join his son Lane at the University of Tennessee.
