[Lions] Lions WR Mike Furrey Healthy, Upset He's On IR

Wide receiver Mike Furrey said Monday he is healthy and disappointed the Lions decided to put him on injured reserve because of a concussion. “This is the way they want to go,” Furrey said. “I’m 100% right now, and I’ll be getting ready for next year next week.” In response, general manager Martin Mayhew said in a statement the Lions made the decision after Furrey continued to experience symptoms for three weeks. “We made this move to protect Mike and to do what’s best for this football team,” Mayhew said.

hes doing what all players do they all always say they are healthy or can come back to fast from things

he has had concussions in the past and they are no joke you dont play around with things when its your brain on the line im sure if he wanted to he could go out and play but after that 1st hit he may be down for the count

A lot of players are such gamers that they think/say they're healthy when they still have issues. Things like this really can't be rushed or they'll end up like Wayne Chrebet.

It's nice to see that the guy is pissed that he isn't able to go out and play for his 0-12 team. There are clearly a lot of other Lions players who wish they were in his shoes right now.

Mike is a classy guy. If you remember a few years back, he was our starting Free Safety (And was pretty decent as well), how many NFL receivers would be prepared to do that?
